Just a terrible experience

The Ryokan is charming . The option of a buffet meal at their sister property was the best thing about this stay.

This was a very rustic and not particularly well appointed accommodation . While the staff was kind there was a definite communication barrier. Their timing for meals was quite rigid. The kaiseki meal was thoughtfully prepared - it was just inedible. The hotel was incredibly damp and smelled strongly of moisture and tatami mats - so much so that I could taste it . It was so unpleasant and incredibly off putting. The facilities were old and shabby. The public onsen was just not particularly special and you could Hear cars driving past as you tried to relax. The private onsen- there was only one with no way to reserve it- was never available. This was truly a trying experience and not worth the money spent

Faulty Towers Ryokan!!! - Don't book !

Private Onsen was great and beds were comfy.

The whole hotel was in a really bad state of disrepair. Smell of damp throughout and evidence of mold in several places including catering facilities.

I was a little bit worried about the cleanliness because of the recent reviews, we stayed at the villa, it was very clean and we really enjoyed it!’, the house has an old feel to it, it’s a little bit used, but it had a charm. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast as well.
